High Tech Tooling is an established engineering and precision manufacturing company specialising in advanced CNC machining, tooling and the manufacture of high-quality engineered components. The business combines modern manufacturing technology with skilled technical expertise to deliver accurate and reliable solutions to meet client requirements. We currently have a position available for a Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson.

Responsibilities
n
n
- Prepare and maintain CNC programs, mechanical drawings and manufacturing documentation for precision components, tooling and mechanical parts.
n
- Interpret CAD models, engineering drawings, specifications, dimensions and tolerances to develop suitable manufacturing solutions.
n
- Support engineering and production teams with mechanical design, tooling, machining and manufacturing requirements.
n
- Select appropriate machining methods, tooling, workholding and machine requirements.
n
- Work with CNC Operators to resolve programming, machining and dimensional issues and respond to production feedback.
n
- Provide technical input to design and production planning to improve manufacturability, quality and efficiency.
n
- Ensure programs, drawings and finished components meet specifications, quality and safety requirements.
n
- Maintain accurate technical records and comply with HTT's quality and safety systems.
n
n
Tasks
n
n
- Develop, modify, test and optimise CNC programs for production.
n
- Prepare setup information, tool lists and supporting job documentation.
n
- Review drawings and CAD models to determine machining requirements, materials, tolerances and processes.
n
- Assist with program proving,
troubleshooting and improvements to CNC machining processes.
n
- Investigate dimensional and production issues and implement appropriate programming or process changes.
n
- Provide technical feedback to engineering, design and production planning.
n
- Assist with inspection, quality issues and non-conformances.
n
- Maintain CNC program revisions, job records and historical documentation.
n
- Support CNC Operators and production activities as required.
n
- Maintain a clean, safe and professional work setting.
n
n
Qualifications
n
n
- Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Drafting, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline; or
n
- At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
n
n
Skills
n
n
- CNC programming and CAD/CAM competency.
n
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, CAD models, specifications and tolerances.
n
- Knowledge of machining processes, tooling, workholding and CNC equipment.
n
- Strong technical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
n
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
n
- Effective communication and ability to work with engineering and production personnel.
n
- Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Experience
n
n
- Experience in CNC programming within precision engineering, tooling or manufacturing.
n
- Experience preparing CNC programs and manufacturing documentation.
n
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and CAD models for production.
n
- Practical knowledge of CNC machining, tooling and manufacturing processes.
n
- Experience troubleshooting machining, dimensional and quality issues.
n
- Experience working with CNC Operators and production teams.
n

Annual Salary: $79,500 to $90,000
