nWe are seeking a compassionate and experienced Residential Care Officer to join our team and provide high-quality support to residents living in supported accommodation while fostering a safe, respectful, and empowering home environment.n
n
nKey Responsibilities include but are not limited to:n
n•Conduct assessments of resident’s individual needs, strengths, preferences, and personal goals, and assist in implementing person-centred support plans that promote independence, wellbeing, and capacity building. n
n•Provide day-to-day care, supervision, and practical support to residents living in supported accommodation, assisting with personal care, household routines, daily living activities, and the development of essential life skills. n
n•Observe, monitor,



and document resident’s physical, emotional, and behavioural wellbeing, maintaining accurate progress notes and reporting significant changes to the appropriate supervisors and support teams. n
n•Recognise when resident’s require additional therapeutic, medical, or community-based services and facilitate appropriate referrals in collaboration with support coordinators and allied health professionals. n
n•Build positive relationships with residents, families, guardians, healthcare professionals, and external service providers to ensure coordinated, person-centred support and continuity of care. n
n•Encourage and support residents to engage in community, recreational, educational, and social activities that enhance inclusion, confidence, independence, and overall quality of life. n
n•Implement individual behaviour support strategies and respond appropriately to incidents or challenging behaviours in accordance with approved behaviour support plans, organisational policies, and NDIS Practice Standards. n
n•Foster a protected, respectful, and inclusive home environment that upholds resident’s rights, promotes dignity, encourages choice and independence, and respects cultural diversity and individual preferences. n
n•Maintain accurate client records, case notes, incident reports,



and support documentation while ensuring all services are delivered in compliance with organisational policies, NDIS Practice Standards, safeguarding requirements, and workplace health and safety legislation. n
n•Work collaboratively with colleagues and participate in team meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and consistency of support services provided to residents.n

nQualificationsn
n•Relevant qualification in Individual Support, Community Services, Disability, Mental Health, or a related field. n
n•Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in disability support, supported independent living, residential care, or a similar care environment. n
n
nSkills & Other Requirementsn
n•Demonstrated experience supporting people living with disability in residential or supported accommodation settings. n
n•Strong understanding of person-centred care principles, NDIS Practice Standards, and safeguarding requirements. n
n•Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills. n
n•Ability to manage challenging behaviours with empathy, professionalism, and sound judgement. n
n•Strong organisational, record-keeping, and problem-solving abilities. n
n•Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. n
n•Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and high standards of care. n
n•Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain), NDIS Worker Screening Check, and Working with Children Check (where applicable). n
