We are seeking an experiencedNetwork Designer to develop secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective network solutions acrosson-premises, data centre, and cloud-connected environments .

n

The role will translate business and project requirements into detailed technical designs, configuration guidance, implementation plans, cost estimates, and operational handover documentation.

n

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, engineers, project managers, delivery teams, and operations teams to deliver high-quality enterprise network solutions.

Key Responsibilities n

n
- Design and document enterprise network solutions acrossLAN, WAN, MAN, Data Centre, Transit, and Cloud environments .
n
- Develop detailed solution designs, configuration specifications, integration guides, cost estimates, and implementation documentation.
n
- Ensure designs comply with architecture standards, security policies, IT standards, and approved design patterns.
n
- Work with Network, Security, and Application Architects to develop integrated solutions.
n
- Engage with stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements.
n
- Prepare implementation, testing, change, backout, and operational handover plans.
n
- Support design reviews, change approval, and operational acceptance processes.
n
- Develop reusable network design patterns, templates, work instructions, and operational guides.
n
- Contribute to network platform lifecycle planning, technology refresh, optimisation, and standardisation.
n
- Participate in technical assessments, Proof of Concepts (PoCs), product evaluations, and vendor assessments.
n
- ProvideLevel 3 technical support for complex network issues.
n




- Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Problem Incident Reviews (PIR).
n
- Troubleshoot implementation and upgrade issues and coordinate with vendors when required.
n
- Identify opportunities for automation, simplification, cost optimisation, and improved network resilience.
n
- Maintain awareness of emerging networking and cloud technologies.
n

Technology & Technical Skills nn
- Strong experience with enterprise network design and engineering.
n
- Expert knowledge ofLAN, WAN, MAN, and Data Centre networking .
n
- Physical and virtual routers and switches.
n
- Network segmentation and connectivity.
n
- Routing and switching technologies, particularlyCisco .
n
- OSPF and BGP .
n
- NAT, NTP, DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (IPAM).
n

Network Security nn
- Enterprise firewall and cybersecurity platforms.
n
- Firewall policy design and implementation.
n
- IDS/IPS.
n
- Remote access and network security.
n
- Understanding ofZero Trust principles and security enforcement.
n

n

Strong knowledge of networking across:

- AWS – Direct Connect, VPC, Transit Gateway.
n
- Google Cloud – Partner Interconnect and VPC.
n

n

Experience with multi-cloud networking and IaaS connectivity is highly desirable.

Qualifications & Experience nn
- Degree inInformation Technology, Engineering, Telecommunications , or equivalent industry experience.
n
- Minimum5 years of experience designing and engineering large enterprise network systems.
n
- Strong hands-on experience in enterprise network and security infrastructure.
n
- Strong expertise inLAN, WAN, and Data Centre network integration .
n
- Proven experience producing technical solution designs and detailed documentation.
n
- Solid business requirements analysis and stakeholder management skills.
n
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
n
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
n

Highly Desirable nn
- CCNP or CCIE certification.
n
- EfficientIP, Infoblox, Fortinet, Check Point, or other major vendor certifications.
n
- AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud networking/security certifications.
n
- CISSP or equivalent cybersecurity certification.
n
- Experience with ServiceNow, Confluence, MS Project, and Visio.
n
- Experience with network monitoring, logging, packet capture, and debugging tools.
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
- Strong technical documentation and solution design capabilities.
n
- Ability to work collaboratively across architecture, engineering, delivery, and operations teams.
n
- Strong attention to detail and design governance.
n
- Ability to prioritise multiple projects and work with minimal supervision.
n
- Strong focus on security, resilience, operational readiness, and cost optimisation.
n
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
n
- Australian Permanent Resident .
