About Us

EREA BlendED National is a network of registered secondary schools, offering a dual engagement model of education. EREA BlendED National is an initiative of Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA), with a growing footprint across Australia. We exist for young people experiencing school can't, wanting to learn but currently unable to manage a traditional classroom for a range of complex reasons, which may include trauma, anxiety, disability, bullying, or other barriers to engagement.

Our dual engagement model combines teacher-led virtual face-to-face learning, regular in-person gatherings, and ongoing wellbeing support. Learning is guided by Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) developed alongside young people and their families. Through strengths-based, neuroaffirming and trauma-informed practice, we create an inclusive and empowering environment where young people can reconnect with education and thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Our Young People

Our young people come from diverse backgrounds and may experience complex educational, social, developmental, environmental, psychological, health or legal barriers to learning. We recognise that each young person's journey is unique and work from a strengths-based, neuroaffirming and trauma-informed framework that prioritises connection, participation and individual growth.

Known as Operation by Principles (OBP), this framework provides a shared foundation for young people, families and staff, ensuring relationships and learning are grounded in mutual understanding, accountability and unconditional positive regard.

Our Team

EREA BlendED National is expanding, with successful schools now established in Tasmania and Queensland. As we continue our growth, we are preparing to commence in New South Wales from Term 1 2027, further extending our reach across Australia. We are building a dynamic, nationally connected team including Principals, Assistant Principals, Teachers, Wellbeing Workers and Learning Support Officers across each state. Together, this team delivers innovative online education to young people who require alternative and supportive learning pathways.

The Opportunities

Due to continued growth across Tasmania, EREA BlendED National is seeking expressions of interest from passionate and committed professionals interested in joining our team in 2027. We are recruiting for current and future opportunities across Tasmania,



including our Austin's Ferry base and regional locations, for the following roles:

Assistant Principal - Teaching & Learning

Provide educational leadership and support the Principal in delivering high-quality teaching, learning, compliance, student engagement and staff development outcomes across BlendED Tasmania.

Teachers

Deliver engaging and differentiated learning through our innovative dual engagement model. We welcome applications from teachers across all subject areas, with upper primary experience and literacy and numeracy intervention experience highly regarded.

Learning Support Officers

Support young people to engage successfully in learning by providing individualised educational assistance, implementing learning adjustments and working collaboratively with teaching staff, families and wellbeing teams.

Wellbeing Workers

Provide outreach and wellbeing support to young people and their families through a strengths-based, trauma-informed and neuroaffirming approach. This role focuses on engagement, participation, advocacy and supporting young people's educational success. Working together, these roles play a critical part in creating safe, inclusive and adaptable learning environments where young people can reconnect with education and achieve positive outcomes.

Employment: Full-time and part-time opportunities available

Commencement: Throughout 2027

Location: Roles available across Tasmania, including Austin's Ferry and regional locations

Salary: Salaries and classifications will be determined in accordance with the applicable industrial instrument and will be commensurate with qualifications, experience and the requirements of the position.

You Will Need

• Ability to commit to and work within our Operating Principles: Respect, Participation, Safe and Legal and Honesty

- Commitment to strengths-based, trauma-informed and neuroaffirming practice
- Relevant qualifications and experience for the position applied for
- Current registration, accreditation, licences or certifications relevant to the role (where applicable)
- Hold a current Working with Vulnerable People Registration
- Hold a current Police Check less than six months old, or the ability to obtain one




- Hold appropriate Australian work rights
- Valid First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence and willingness to travel and drive school vehicles when required
