An opportunity is available for a highly motivated Accounts Officer to join our Business Support Team. Reporting to the relevant manager, the role provides practical support across a broad range of accounting and administrative activities, including accounts payable, receipting, employee reimbursements, corporate credit card processing and other general accounting duties.

As Paspaley implements a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, the successful candidate will also contribute to system testing and implementation activities. This is an opportunity to combine day-to-day transactional responsibilities with involvement in a significant business improvement initiative.

Key responsibilities

- Process accounts payable transactions and arrange payments, including foreign currency payments, in accordance with established requirements.
- Enter selected receipts and payments from a range of sources accurately and on a timely basis.
- Process and reconcile petty cash floats and investigate or escalate discrepancies where required.
- Process employee reimbursements and corporate credit card transactions, including supporting documentation and reconciliation activities.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and assist with routine reconciliations, data entry and filing.
- Participate in ERP testing, data validation,



issue identification and other implementation activities relevant to the role.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting, administrative and system processes, and raise suggestions with supervisors or management.
- Provide reception relief when required, including directing calls, processing incoming and outgoing mail, completing data entry and helping maintain meeting rooms and shared office areas.
- Undertake other reasonable accounting and administrative duties as directed by management.

To be the successful candidate you must have:

- Solid numeracy and written communication skills.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- The ability to organise and prioritise work, manage competing requirements and meet deadlines.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team while taking ownership of assigned tasks.
- Intermediate or higher proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Confidence in learning new systems and following documented processes and controls.

We are looking for a self-aware and collaborative team member who is attentive to the situations around them, asks questions when requirements are unclear, and communicates issues promptly to Business Services supervisors and management.
