Assistant Accountant Full Time | On Site | Finance

Aspire Early Education & Kindergarten is continuing to grow, and we are looking for an experienced and detail focused Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance Transformation, this is a hands on role supporting the day to day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions across a high volume, multi entity environment.

About the Role

As our Assistant Accountant, you will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments, completing reconciliations and supporting month end activities.

A key focus of the position will be supporting the continued development of our Accounts Payable function, including improving automation and ensuring our processes can effectively support Aspire's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Process approximately 2,500 Accounts Payable invoices each month
- Coordinate fortnightly supplier payment runs
- Process employee reimbursements
- Support Accounts Payable month end close by working day one
- Complete revenue reconciliations including CCS and ECEC subsidies
- Prepare invoices for intercompany, related party and other revenue streams
- Complete monthly reconciliations across approximately 50 bank accounts and 100 credit cards
- Complete AP ageing analysis, supplier statement and subledger reconciliations
- Assist with journals, accruals and month end reporting
- Monitor AP automation performance and identify opportunities for improvement




- Maintain users and provide basic troubleshooting support within Medius
- Build positive working relationships with suppliers, Centre teams, Support Office and Procurement

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, accurate and confident working in a busy finance environment.

You will ideally bring

- Certificate IV or Diploma in Bookkeeping, Accounting or Finance
- Minimum three years of experience in bookkeeping, accounts or Assistant Accountant positions within a large organisation
- Strong Accounts Payable experience and understanding of AP best practices
- Good understanding of accounting principles
- Experience working with ERP systems, with NetSuite experience highly regarded
- Experience with AP automation platforms such as Medius, Coupa or Basware
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- A continuous improvement and automation mindset
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A collaborative, reliable and solutions focused approach
