We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join the Enterprise Solutions and Technology Group as Assistant Commissioner, Technology Business Services.

As Assistant Commissioner, you will lead a diverse portfolio of enabling and shared services functions that support the delivery of enterprise technology solutions and services across the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). You will provide strategic leadership across planning, governance and assurance activities, ensuring the effective stewardship of resources, strong organisational performance, and alignment with ATO priorities.

You will lead the Enterprise Program Management Office, providing oversight of enterprise planning, financial management, workforce resourcing, portfolio governance and delivery assurance. You’ll play a critical role in supporting investment decisions and ensuring resources are aligned to strategic priorities and business outcomes.

You’ll provide leadership across information and records management, governance, risk and assurance functions, ensuring compliance with legislative and organisational obligations while driving continuous improvement and building organisational confidence.

Working across the ATO, government and industry, you will build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, partners and suppliers to influence outcomes, navigate complex challenges and support the successful delivery of enterprise priorities.

To be considered you must also have:
- proven experience leading governance and assurance functions, delivering robust risk management, audit outcomes, and compliance that builds trust and drives accountability
- demonstrated leadership in enterprise program office functions, with expertise in financial planning, scheduling and portfolio management
- experience overseeing information and records management functions, with a strong focus on strategic oversight, compliance and driving remediation outcomes
- demonstrated capability to lead large-scale and complex programs of work, navigating competing priorities and delivering outcomes in fast paced and evolving environments
- exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and provide credible, insightful and persuasive advice to senior executives, government partners, suppliers and other key stakeholders.
