Sounds N Shapes is looking for passionate and reliable Piano, Guitar and Drum Teachers to join our growing team in Blacktown.

We teach students from young beginners through to adults in a fun, supportive and modern learning environment.

We are looking for teachers who can make lessons engaging, build positive relationships with students, and help them develop their musical skills, confidence and love of music.

You do not need to teach all three instruments. We welcome applications from teachers specialising in Piano, Guitar or Drums. The ability to teach more than one instrument is a great advantage.

What You’ll Be Doing

Depending on your instrument, you may teach:

- Piano, keyboard, guitar and/or drums
- Instrumental technique and correct playing foundations
- Music reading and sight-reading
- Rhythm, timing and coordination
- Music theory and musicianship
- Chords, scales and repertoire
- Performance skills and confidence
- Contemporary and traditional songs
- AMEB and HSC preparation, where appropriate
- Individual and small group lessons
- Preparation for studio performances, showcases and band programs

You will also:

- Provide positive and constructive feedback
- Monitor and record student progress
- Adapt lessons to suit different ages, personalities and learning styles
- Communicate professionally with parents and guardians
- Help create a positive and encouraging learning environment

- Able to engage both beginners and more experienced students
- Confident adapting lessons to individual student needs
- A strong communicator with students,



parents and the wider team

Previous teaching experience is highly regarded, however we also welcome applications from music students, performers, graduates and experienced musicians who are enthusiastic about developing as teachers. Relevant music qualifications, AMEB experience or professional performance experience are an advantage.

A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required.
