Initial 4–6 Month Position | Potential for Ongoing Employment

Buildster is an established Sydney-based commercial construction company delivering a range of commercial building, refurbishment and construction projects.

We are looking for a motivated Graduate Draftsperson, Architectural Graduate or Construction/Engineering Graduate to join our team on an initial 4–6 month basis.

The position can be part-time or full-time and may suit a recent graduate or final-year student looking to gain practical experience working on live construction projects.

The Role

Working alongside our Project Managers and construction team, your primary responsibilities will include:

- Preparing and updating CAD design drawings

- Preparing detailed shop drawings

- Preparing and updating as-built drawings

- Amending existing architectural and construction drawings

- Incorporating site measurements, consultant information and construction changes into drawings

- Assisting Project Managers with drawing coordination

- Maintaining drawing registers, revisions and document control

- Liaising with our project team to ensure drawings accurately reflect the works being constructed

About You

We are looking for someone who:

- Has recently completed, or is completing, a qualification in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Drafting, Construction,



Engineering or a related discipline

- Has a very good working knowledge of AutoCAD

- Can read and interpret architectural, structural and services drawings

- Understands Australian building standards & detail

- Can interpret building standards

- Has strong attention to detail

- Is organised and able to manage drawing revisions accurately

- Has good written and verbal communication skills

- Is keen to gain practical experience within the commercial construction industry

Experience with Revit or other construction/design software would be advantageous but is not essential.

This is an opportunity to gain genuine hands-on experience working with an established construction company and to see how drawings are developed, coordinated and ultimately constructed on site.

The role is initially on contract for 4–6 months, with flexibility for either part-time or full-time employment. There may also be an opportunity for the position to develop into a longer-term role for the right person.
