We are seeking a friendly, reliable and motivated Canteen Assistant to join our school community. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, providing great service and helping maintain a safe, welcoming and well-organised canteen environment. With hours that fall within the school day, the position offers an excellent work-life balance and may particularly suit parents or carers looking for meaningful employment that fits around school commitments.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.24FTE), 18 hours per fortnight.

James Nash State High School is located in the Wide Bay Region of Queensland and is serviced by Education Queensland's North Coast region. Set on the northern outskirts of Gympie, James Nash High was founded in 1977 and has a current enrolment of 1100 students.

Your Chance





- Perform a variety of catering and cleaning activities to ensure the effective operations of the kitchen/canteen.
- Perform duties that adhere to the maintenance of safe and hygienic operations within the kitchen/canteen.

Responsibilities

- Provide quality canteen and catering services, including food preparation, counter service, cleaning and table clearing.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness.
- Follow food preparation procedures and daily menu plans.
- Report faulty equipment promptly to the Canteen Supervisor.
- Operate the cash register and handle customer payments.
- Follow Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, students and visitors.
- Participate in teamwork, performance management, professional development and training.
