The role
Lead fun, structured drawing and art classes for small groups of children in a weekday after-school time slot. No two terms are the same — you'll guide kids through a progressive curriculum covering drawing fundamentals, colour, composition and creative projects, building their confidence and skills term by term.
What you'll do
- Deliver planned lessons to small groups (typically 6–10 kids), following our term curriculum
- Create a warm, encouraging classroom environment where kids feel safe to create and experiment
- Manage classroom behaviour and keep sessions running on time
- Track and share student progress with parents at the end of each term
- Set up and pack down art materials and equipment before/after class
- Communicate professionally with parents and our team
What we're looking for
- A genuine passion for art and for working with children
- Experience teaching or working with kids preferred (formal teaching qualification not required)
- A Working With Children Check (WWCC) — required before starting, we can help you apply if you don't have one
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable managing a small group independently
- Full working rights in Australia
Nice to have
- A background in fine art, illustration or art education (diploma/degree)
- Experience with the NSW Creative Kids program
- Conversational Mandarin (practical with our parent community, not essential)
