Responsibilities:
- Support complex financial crime investigations and remediation projects for clients across the digital assets and cryptocurrency sector.
- Conduct investigations into potential AML/CTF, sanctions, fraud and suspicious activity, identifying key risks and control gaps.
- Review transaction activity, customer profiles and supporting evidence to identify patterns, anomalies and potential financial crime concerns.
- Prepare investigation findings, reports and recommendations, supporting clients through remediation and regulatory responses.
- Work closely with client stakeholders to deliver investigations and remediation outcomes across large-scale consulting engagements.
What you'll need to succeed:
- 5–10 years’ experience across AML/CTF, Financial Crime, Investigations or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years’ hands-on experience within crypto, digital assets or a VASP environment is essential.
- Strong understanding of crypto-specific financial crime risks, with exposure to on-chain/off-chain investigations, wallet analysis and emerging typologies highly regarded.
- Positive knowledge of AUSTRAC regulatory requirements and VASP obligations, including the upcoming Tranche 2 reforms.
- Relevant AML, Financial Crime or crypto/digital assets certifications would be advantageous.
