About the Role:

Balance International Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineering Technician to provide technical support for our trailer retail and wholesale operations.

The position is responsible for testing and inspecting trailer mechanical systems, analysing technical issues, supporting the installation and modification of mechanical components, and ensuring completed work meets relevant specifications and quality requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Manager, Vehicle Body Makers and Vehicle Assemblers on technical matters relating to trailers, mechanical components and associated systems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

· Conduct mechanical and functional tests on trailers and components, including axles, suspension, braking, coupling and hydraulic systems, and analyse test results.

· Provide technical assistance in the design, development and modification of trailers and associated mechanical systems, including reviewing technical drawings, specifications, dimensions and component requirements.

· Assist with the assembly, installation, adjustment and modification of mechanical components and trailer mechanical assemblies.

· Diagnose mechanical faults and determine appropriate repair, adjustment or replacement solutions.

· Select appropriate tools, equipment and mechanical components based on technical specifications and operational requirements.

· Take measurements, collect and analyse technical data,



perform calculations and prepare technical drawings, diagrams and reports.

· Estimate material, component and equipment requirements for trailer modifications, repairs and technical work.

· Inspect completed trailers and mechanical assemblies to ensure conformity with technical specifications, quality requirements and applicable standards.

· Organise and support inspection and maintenance activities for trailers and associated mechanical systems.

· Provide technical guidance to Vehicle Body Makers and Vehicle Assemblers regarding installation, testing, adjustment and mechanical requirements.

Skills and Experience:

· A minimum of three (3) years of work experience as Mechanical Engineering Technician or in a relevant field.

· Previous experience in mechanical engineering technology, trailers, automotive systems, machinery, hydraulic systems, manufacturing or a similar mechanical workplace will be highly regarded.

· Applicants should have sound mechanical problem-solving skills, the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, experience with mechanical testing and measuring equipment, and good written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capability.

· Strong attention to quality and safety.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Mandarin-speaking is advantageous.
