About the Role

As an Asset Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the sustainable management of Council's diverse asset portfolio. Working within the assets and Traffic team, you will help ensure asset information is accurate, reliable and fit for purpose, enabling informed decisions that support the long-term delivery of services and infrastructure for the community.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine technical expertise with strategic thinking. You will be involved in maintaining and improving asset data, undertaking condition and risk assessments, supporting asset planning activities, and contributing to financial reporting and budgeting processes. Your work will directly influence how Council plans, prioritises and invests in its assets to deliver value for the community now and into the future.

The role offers a diverse range of responsibilities, from technical investigations and asset analysis through to stakeholder engagement, contract support and procurement activities. You will work collaboratively across Council, building strong relationships with internal teams and contributing to projects that improve asset systems, data quality and operational outcomes.

What We Offer

- Permanent, Full-Time - 70 hours per fortnight




- Salary from $94,020.07 - $108,936.38 per annum plus 12% superannuation
- Civil Liability Allowance 3.5%
- 9-day fortnight subject to operational requirements

The successful candidate will have

- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management, asset management or minimum 3 years demonstrated relevant experience in a related field
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- Construction Induction (White Card)
- Proven ability to interpret design drawings
- High level of personal communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to produce accurate, clear, concise, and timely reports
- Ability to research and source information of a technical nature
- Current knowledge of engineering practice, particularly in a Local Government context
- Sound organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Good understanding of civil engineering modelling software, GIS (mapping) software, CAD software
- Sound computer skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
