How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:
The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do:
- Develop and implement an ICT strategy that aligns with the organisation's goals and objectives, as well as current information security standards and best practices.
- Identify and assess the organisation's ICT needs and provide solutions to meet those needs while ensuring information security requirements are met.
- Manage the design, implementation, and maintenance of ICT infrastructure, hardware, software, and applications with an emphasis on security, risk management and budgetary requirements of the business.
- Design, develop, implement, and periodically review ICT policies and procedures.
- Monitor and manage the performance, availability, and security of ICT systems and services, and implement controls to ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
- Develop and manage the ICT budget, including forecasting, cost management and purchasing of IT related HW/SW.
- Provide leadership, guidance, support, and assistance to the ICT team and ensure that team and employees understand and comply with information security policies and procedures.
- Lead the IT Governance Committee to ensure accountability and governance of the company’s information and security risk, compliance and strategic environments.
- Direct the ICT procurement process and liaise with equipment and service providers to identify hardware / software for purchase, obtain quotes, prepare purchase requests, place orders, receive and allocate HW/SW, manage invoices.
- Report on ICT operations, projects, and security incidents.
- Shape and govern the organisation's AI strategy and capability roadmap, aligning AI initiatives with business objectives while ensuring robust oversight of security, compliance, data privacy, and responsible AI practices.
- Work with the Human Resources team to grow the Gilmour Space team as required.
- Other duties as requested by Management.
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, business administration or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing ICT systems and services in a complex environment with an emphasis on information security.
- Demonstrated experience in executive communication and influencing skills.
- Minimum of 5 years in a senior IT leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of ICT infrastructure, hardware, software, and applications, as well as information security standards and best practices.
- Evidence of exceptional ability to lead complex IT and cyber security environments in fast paced organisations.
Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Professional certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CISSP, or CISM are desirable.
- Experience in managing a team of ICT professionals and providing mentorship and coaching.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement an ICT strategy that aligns with organisational goals and objectives.
- Experience in developing and managing an ICT budget and forecasting information security initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to support and manage the IT needs of R&D; departments, while ensuring IT security measures are adhered to.
- Experience with technological Start Up / SMB / Enterprise is desirable.
- Practical experience with one of the security frameworks: NIST/Essential 8/ISO27001 highly desirable.
- NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred

- Experience managing and/or directing an IT operation.

- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety, quality assurance, continuous improvement, and environmental management.
Supervisors / Managers:
Supervisors / Managers of Gilmour Space are to undertake effective occupational health & safety measures to ensure compliance with WHS (Work Health and Safety) legislation. Performance criteria is to include but is not limited to:
- Disseminate Workplace Health and Safety information to staff relevant to the specific work area
- Ensure that employees have the information, instruction, training, and supervision to work safely
- Immediately advising the Risk, Health and Safety Officer of issues relating to WHS in their department and to continually review and make recommendations on ways in which Gilmour Space can improve WHS within their department
- Assist where required in providing/ensuring induction and refresher training is provided to ensure ability of staff to discharge allocated Workplace Health & Safety responsibilities including hazards within the workplace, safe operating procedures, use and maintenance of PPE (PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT) and safety equipment and emergency response procedures
- Ensuring all incidents / accidents are recorded and reported and that feedback on actions taken is communicated to employees in their department.
- Ensuring implementation of corrective action arising from accident/incident or hazard reporting and monitoring to ensure effectiveness.
- Supervise the Workplace health & safety aspects of work undertaken by staff within the work area
- Facilitate consultative processes regarding Workplace health and safety issues between management and staff
- Participating in and monitoring of risk assessments, hazard evaluation and implementation of hazard control measures within their work area as required
- Actively being involved with and promoting a clean and safe working environment
