About The Role

This is a senior role working on the entire lifecycle of our software solutions - the ongoing design, architecture, management, development and support. It extends beyond software development into leading the entire product management cycle – documenting requirements/specifications, code/release management, demonstration and test environments, marketing materials, "Help" and documentation. It includes liaising with 3rd party developers working under contract as required.

The Software Solutions team also works closely with the Sales and Solution Delivery functions to design and tailor customisations, add‑on products and 3rd party integrations to support our customers’ businesses.

This role means getting to know our customers, and how they use our software, and working with our Sales and Customer Engagement teams to discover opportunities for expanding our solution footprint. Whether it’s expanding our functional footprint or embracing emerging technologies and methodologies this role is about ensuring our solutions maintain leadership positions in our target markets.

This is a hands‑on role with input to the direction and technologies we employ and to the management of our Intellectual Property, how it is delivered to our customers and how it is supported.





Clear Objective’s customers and prospects are currently located throughout Australia and Current Zealand. Travel may be required.

Clear Objective provides a business mileage reimbursementfor business travel undertaken in private vehicles, and agenerousper diemfor employees when staying awayfrom home.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development of a major ERP software solution and add‑on components

Support and maintain existing software Applications

Development of client specific customised software

Working with the Software Solutions team to investigate and resolve issues

Provide assistance to the Solutions Delivery function

Key Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in computer science/software engineering

Development experience using C++ in a Microsoft Windows environment, including Visual Studio and standard libraries





Experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle, development methodologies, and quality systems

Experience with SQL

Have a methodical approach to problem solving

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to write high quality specification documents

Strong leadership and communication skills and strong stakeholder management capability

Experience managing complex projects

Experience working with and managing 3rd party / offshore development resources

Good communications skills with both technical and non‑technical staff

Ability to adapt in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment managing competing priorities

Highly regarded Skills and Experience:

Knowledge of ERP systems and similar business‑related software

Diverse knowledge of current and future industry software trends

Relational database development and administration experience

Experience with GitHub and Subversion

PHP, PHP frameworks and WordPress

Other Advantageous Requirements:

Experience with web services design anddevelopmentas well as technologies such as SOAP, WSDL and XML Schema

Test‑driven development experience using automated tools such as CppUnit and JUnit

Virtual machine knowledge and experience
