About the Position:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and capable leader to join the Shire of Broome in the role of Director Development and Community.

The Director Development and Community will be responsible forproviding leadership and delivering strategic and community outcomes and exceptional customer service in the areas of Community Engagement, Marketing and Communications, Place Activation, Economic Development, Special Projects, Town Planning, Building, Environmental Health, Emergency, Community Safety and Ranger services.

About You:

Our ideal candidate will have

- Experience at a senior management level of at least 5 years
- Capacity to deal with complexcommunity, development, economic and regulatory services issues including the formulation of appropriate action strategies and to provide high level adviceto the CEO and Council
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills together with demonstrated advocacy and negotiation skills
- Ability to contribute to the strategic direction of a diverse organisation
- Well-developed leadership and management skills
- Degree in Urban and Regional Planning,



Environmental Health, Building, Community and Economic Development or related area. Membership of or eligibility for membership of, a relevant professional body.
- Possession of or progress towards a post graduate qualification in management (Desirable)

Working for the Shire of Broome meansyou will enjoy:

- $190,000 - $210,000 base salary per annum (5 year contract)
- In addition to base salary there are generous allowances, including Broome Location Allowance ($20,000 pa), Housing Allowance (Rental)of $28,080 pa orHousing Allowance (Home Ownership) $33,750paand Utilities Reimbursement Allowance of $6,000 and Travel reimbursement Allowance of $6,500 pa, as well as employer matched superannuation up to a total of 15.5%.
