About the team n

n Our Sydney Corporate practice is seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join its growing team.

n

n Predominantly working with partners Dan Atkin and Simon Leslie you will join one of Australia’s leading venture capital practices, advising founders, high-growth companies, investors and venture capital funds on transactions across the investment lifecycle, from early-stage and growth capital raisings through to later-stage investments, M&A; activity, global expansion and exits.

n

n Recent highlights include:

n

- Square Peg on its investment in Airwallex’s US$300 million Series F financing.
n
- Blackbird Ventures on the sale of Eucalyptus to Hims & Hers, one of the most significant exits in Australian venture capital history.
n
- Checkbox AI on its US$23 million Series A financing and cross-border US “flip-up” transaction.
n
- Blackbird Ventures as co-lead investor in Gilmour Space Technologies’ AU$350 million Series E financing.
n
- Bridgit on its Series B capital raise led by Milford Private Equity.

take genuine responsibility for matters and work autonomously with the support of experienced partners.

n On a day-to-day basis you will have the chance to:

n

n
- advise founders, high-growth companies, investors and venture capital funds on M&A;, private equity, venture capital and growth capital transactions
n
- take a leading role on matters and work directly with clients
n
- manage key transaction workstreams and help drive matters through to completion
n
- supervise and mentor junior lawyers
n
- participate in business development and client relationship activities
n
- work with lawyers across our global network, including on cross-border matters.
n

About you n

You will bring: n

- 5+ years' experience, with exposure to venture capital, private M&A; and/or private equity transactions
n
- excellent technical abilities and robust problem-solving skills
n
- strong drafting and transaction management skills
n
- a commercial, practical and proactive approach to advice
n
- confidence working directly with clients and managing client relationships
n
- the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team.
