Your primary responsibilities will include:
n
n
- Liaise with the Class Mentors in their year level, Director of Middle School and / or Deputy Principal – Staff & Students and Student Psychologists to manage the pastoral care and personal counselling programs of all students in their year level, referring and maintaining communication with specialist staff when necessary;
n
- Be aware of the social, emotional, physical, academic and spiritual development of students in the year level, including the orientation of new students;
n
- In conjunction with the Director of Middle School and Data & Progression Leader, monitor students' academic progress and design and implement appropriate intervention strategies;
n
- To monitor and coordinate year level activities and to support other cocurricular activities involving their year level members such as excursions, retreats, camps, etc;
n
- To work with the Deputy Principal – Staff & Students and Director of Middle School to implement appropriate arrangements for the College's Wellbeing program
n
- To be responsible for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of individual Case Management programs and liaising with external agencies when appropriate.
n
- Set the professional standards for members of their team – supporting the performance and development of Class/House Mentors in coming to understand the intrinsic links between wellbeing and learning
n
- Adhering to the school's Child Protection Policy and Child Safety Staff Code of Conduct.
n
- Complying with ongoing professional development requirements as per VIT guidelines.
n
- Actively engaging in internal and external career development to enhance teaching practices.
n
- Utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively engage students in their learning journey.
n
n
Skills/Experience Required
n
We require the following qualifications and qualities in the ideal candidate:
n
n
- Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification (Masters Degree an advantage)
n
- Experience in relevant educational leadership.
n
- Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
n
- A strong commitment to Catholic education.
n
- Ability to build and maintain professional and caring relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
n
- Skills to create an engaging, educational, and challenging learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students.
n
- An eagerness to learn and grow in the field of education.
n
- Proficiency in implementing a differentiated curriculum and leveraging modern technology to support student learning.
n
n
Special Requirements
n
At De La Salle College, the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children are paramount. Therefore, the successful applicant must demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to providing a safe environment for children.

The successful applicant must hold a valid Victorian Institute of Teaching registration. While accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite.
