nPosition Summaryn
nThe Chef is responsible for the end-to-end management of kitchen operations, including menu execution, food quality control, staff supervision, and compliance. The role requires delivering a diverse menu that combines modern Australian café and Restaurant dining with international influences, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and high presentation standards across breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.n
nKey Responsibilitiesn
n1. Food Preparation and Service Executionn
n• Prepare and cook a wide variety of menu items including:n
no Breakfast and gourmet dishesn
no Main meals such as steak, pork, seafood, and pastan
no Appetisers, salads, and dessertsn
n• Ensure all dishes are produced in accordance with established recipes, portion controls, and presentation standardsn
n• Manage high-volume service periods while maintaining consistency and plating qualityn
n2. Menu Planning and Developmentn
n• Contribute to the design and periodic update of menus reflecting:n
no Seasonal availability of ingredientsn
no Customer preferences and dining trendsn
no Balance between café-style and premium dining offeringsn
n• Develop current dishes that align with the restaurant’s creative and story-driven food philosophy(forkandfablecafe.com)n

Kitchen Operations Managementn
n• Oversee daily kitchen operations, including task allocation, service coordination and workflow efficiency between sectionsn
n• Monitor food preparation processes to ensure consistency across all servicesn
n• Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen areasn
n• Monitor stock levels and order supplies while minimising wastage through proper portion control and stock rotation (FIFO)n
n4. Quality Control and Compliancen
n• Ensure all food meets quality standards in taste, temperature, and presentationn
n• Maintain strict compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.n
n• Conduct regular checks on food storage, handling, and labellingn
n6. Staff Supervision and Trainingn
n• Supervise and train staff on food preparation techniques, hygiene practices, and presentation standardsn
n• Ensure staff adhere to workplace safety and operational proceduresn
nSkills and Experience Requiredn
n• Certificate IV or higher relevant qualification.n
n• At least 1 year of experience working as a chef in fast paced dining establishment.n
n• Ability to work effectively under pressuren
n• Able to work independently without supervisionn
n• Leadership and team management capability
