We're looking for a motivated and reliable Duty Manager to join our bar and associated hostel / tourist accommodation business. This role is ideal for someone with strong bar experience who is ready to step into a hands‐on leadership position and grow their hospitality career across both bar and accommodation operations.

n

This is a leadership‐focused role that combines operational responsibility, people management, and great guest service. You'll play a key role in supporting the day‐to‐day, weekly, and monthly operations of the business, working closely with Senior Management while helping onboard, train, and support staff across bar, reception, housekeeping, and guest services.

Key Responsibilities

n

Duty Management & Leadership (Daily, Weekly & Monthly Operations)

n

Act as the on-shift Duty Manager and primary point of contact for staff

n

Work closely with and report into Senior Management

n

Lead by example and maintain team culture, professionalism, and service standards

n

Assist with opening and closing procedures

n

Support the onboarding, training, and ongoing development of new and existing staff

n

Support daily operations and contribute to weekly and monthly operational planning

n

Bar & Service Operations (Daily & Weekly Operations)

n

Confidently run bar service during busy periods

n

Ensure responsible service of alcohol and venue compliance

n

Weekly bar operations including stock control, stock ordering, and cleanliness

n

Maintain presentation standards across the bar and service areas

n





Support training of bar staff and uphold service standards

n

Guest Experience & Hostel Reception

n

Deliver excellent guest experience across both the bar and accommodation

n

Support hostel reception operations including check‐ins, check‐outs, and guest enquiries

n

Handle guest concerns professionally and calmly

n

Ensure high standards of presentation and service across guest‐facing areas

n

Assist with onboarding and training of reception and guest services staff

n

General Operations & Compliance (Ongoing)

n

Ensure the hostel and accommodation code of conduct is followed

n

Assist with events, functions, and smooth running of the venue

n

Help maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for guests and staff

n

Identify opportunities to improve systems, guest experience, and team workflows

n

Support the promotion and marketing of the bar and accommodation through in‐venue engagement and local partnerships.

n

Required Skills & Experience

n

1–3 years' experience in hospitality - Strong bar experience is essential

n

Previous experience in a supervisory role or readiness to step into leadership

n

Solid communication and customer service skills

n

Ability to lead by example and remain calm under pressure

n

High attention to detail and strong time management

n

Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings and weekends

n
