About the role

Mater Private Hospital Townsville are currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our Medical Ward. We offer excellent flexibility, with opportunities ranging from Permanent Part-Time (0.6 FTE) through to Full-Time employment available. Choose the arrangement that best suits your lifestyle!

To be considered for this opportunity, this role requires participation in a 24/7 rotating roster including morning, afternoon, and night shifts.

n

The Medical Unit offers a variety of opportunities to care for patients that have specialised care needs across 46 beds. This includes 20 acute care telemetry beds, oncology, hematology, high flow respiratory and general medicine.

n

The Medical Unit is a supportive team of Nurses, Doctors and Allied Health staff who together care for patients, carers and family whilst they are at Mater hospital.

n

Salary range: $44.06 - $56.52 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900+access to many staff benefits!

What you'll be doing

n

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, our Registered Nurses make up a vital and respected part of the nursing team at Mater.

n

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Delivering and evaluating evidence‐based nursing care within your scope of practice
n
- Advocating for patients through education, informed consent, and shared decision‐making
n
- Act as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to procedures
n




- Contribute to the maintenance of an environment which promotes safety, security and personal integrity of individual patients and groups
n
- Maintain and adhere to Infection Control policies and practices
n
- Complies with organisational policies, procedures, work instructions and guidelines
n

About you

n

n
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
n
- Minimum of 1 post grad experience working within an acute medical setting
n
- Visa sponsorship may be considered for exceptional international applicants with demonstrated extensive experience in critical care on a medical ward.
n
- Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster, including nights and weekends
n
- High level skills in problem‐solving, communication, coordination and time management
n
- The ability to contribute effectively and efficiently within a busy, multidisciplinary team environment
n
- Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate patient care and competency in clinical problem solving
n
- Available to work across all shifts
n
- Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communications and the ability to maintain accurate clinical and assessment data
n
- All successful candidates may be required to complete pre‐employment checks (including criminal history, working rights, medical and working with children checks).
