FULL-TIME COOK – ITALIAN RESTAURANT TÁVOLA Restaurant is seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team in Bentleigh, Victoria. About the role

n

The successful candidate will work as part of our kitchen team, preparing and cooking high-quality Italian food while maintaining TÁVOLA's standards of consistency, presentation, food safety and service.

Key responsibilities

n

n
- Preparing and cooking dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards
n
- Examining ingredients and food products to ensure quality and freshness
n
- Organising mise en place and managing an allocated kitchen section during service
n
- Operating and regulating ovens, grills and other commercial cooking equipment
n
- Portioning, plating and garnishing dishes consistently
n
- Preparing dishes for guests with allergies or special dietary requirements
n
- Maintaining correct food storage,



stock rotation and temperature‐control procedures
n
- Complying with all food‐safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements
n
- Assisting with menu planning and estimating food requirements
n
- Monitoring portions, stock levels and food waste
n
- Supporting and training junior kitchen staff when required
n
- Working collaboratively with the kitchen and front‐of‐house teams
n

Requirements

n

n
- A relevant commercial cookery qualification or equivalent skilled experience
n
- At least one year of relevant experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen
n
- Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations
n
- Experience with Italian cuisine is highly regarded
n
- Strong attention to quality, presentation and consistency
n
- Good organisational, communication and teamwork skills
n
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‐paced restaurant environment
n
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
