Position Overview
n
Shearwater is seeking a Primary Wellbeing Coordinator whose focus is providing a safe and supportive environment for students, while maintaining high standards of student behaviour to support positive engagement in the Primary School learning program. A key focus for this role upon commencement, will be to work collaboratively with Class Teachers and the Primary Coordinator to continue to implement the Primary School behaviour management program.

The ideal candidate will be experienced, demonstrate a deep understanding of the developmental stages and educational needs of children, including an appreciation of particular learning styles as well as social and emotional needs, particularly as understood in a Steiner Primary School. Candidates with a sensitivity to, and an awareness and understanding of,
how different learning needs and trauma can impact and contribute to behaviours will be preferred, as will experience in utilising a restorative practices approach.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Working with Children Check as required under the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012.
