The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of parenting and property matters while working alongside experienced family-law specialists. The position offers direct client contact, responsibility for managing files and genuine opportunities for continued career development.

The Role
n
Your responsibilities may include:
n
n
- Managing parenting and property matters from initial instructions through to resolution.
n
- Advising clients on divorce, separation and de facto relationship matters.
n
- Handling complex parenting disputes, relocation matters and urgent applications.
n
- Advising on property settlements, financial agreements and spousal maintenance.
n
- Drafting consent orders, parenting plans, financial agreements, affidavits and court documents.
n
- Managing family-violence and intervention-order matters where required.
n
- Preparing matters for dispute-resolution conferences, mediations and final hearings.
n
- Negotiating settlements with other parties and their legal representatives.
n
- Briefing and instructing barristers, valuers, accountants and other experts.
n
- Appearing in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
n
- Providing clients with clear, practical and empathetic legal advice.
n
- Managing files, deadlines, costs and client expectations.
n
- Developing and maintaining robust professional and client relationships.
n

About You
n
To be considered, you will have:
n
n
- A minimum of three years' post-admission experience in family law.
n
- Experience managing parenting and property matters.
n
- Sound knowledge of the Family Law Act 1975 and relevant court procedures.
n
- Strong drafting, negotiation, advocacy and legal research skills.
n
- Experience preparing court documents and managing litigation.
n
- The ability to manage files with an appropriate level of autonomy.
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
n
- A practical, resolution-focused approach to family-law matters.
n
- Empathy, professionalism and the ability to support clients through sensitive circumstances.
n
- Strong organisation and time-management skills.The ability to manage competing priorities and meet court deadlines.
n
- A collaborative and client-focused approach.
n
n
Experience in complex property matters, high-conflict parenting disputes, binding financial agreements or family-violence matters will be highly regarded.
n
