n We are seeking a Microsoft Fabric Data Support Engineer who can support, maintain , and improve data and analytics solutions using the Microsoft Fabric platform. You will work with business and technology stakeholders to keep data pipelines, lakehouses , warehouses, semantic models, notebooks, reports, AI/ML workloads, and operational insights reliable, secure, and fit for purpose , with Microsoft Foundry capability used to extend AI, machine learning, and intelligent data outcomes where needed.

Core to the Role
n

- n
Support, monitor, test, and improve Microsoft Fabric data solutions, including pipelines, lakehouses , warehouses, semantic models, notebooks, and reporting assets across business teams and user groups.
n
n
n
n
n
- n
Assess business data support needs, source systems, data quality, technical constraints, incidents, and readiness for new data and analytics solutions.
n
n
n
n
n
- n
Create practical support models, data solution designs, runbooks, remediation plans, and stakeholder engagement materials.
n
n
n
n
n
- n
Support Fabric items, data engineering workloads, Data Factory pipelines, lakehouse and warehouse assets, notebooks, semantic models, and workspace content.
n
n
n
n
n
- n
Integrate Microsoft Fabric with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Dataverse, SQL, Excel, Azure data services, Power BI, and AI/ML solutions using Microsoft Foundry where appropriate .
n
n
n
n
n
- n
Build simple guides, support notes, refresh runbooks, release updates, and knowledge articles for data users and support teams.
n
n
n
n
n
- n
Support governance adoption, including workspaces, security, data access, data refresh, deployment pipelines, capacity usage, access controls, and standards.
n
n
n
n
n
- n
Use Microsoft Foundry, Fabric Data Science, notebooks, and related AI/ML services where appropriate to improve forecasting, classification, automation,
workflow, and data-driven actions.
n
n
n
n
n
- n
Track platform usage, performance, adoption, capacity, incidents, and data issues, then recommend continuous improvements.
n
n
n
n
About You
n
n
n
You are an experienced data support professional with the ability to translate business requirements and complex data environments into reliable, maintainable data and analytics services. You have a strong understanding of Microsoft Fabric, data engineering, lakehouse and warehouse patterns, semantic models, data pipelines, workspace governance, security, refresh management, capacity awareness, and support requirements across Microsoft 365, Azure-connected services, Power BI, and AI/ML workloads. You are comfortable engaging with stakeholders, data owners, service teams, analysts, makers, and end users to support data solutions that are robust, maintainable, and aligned to business outcomes.

Professional Skillset

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Fabric workspaces, Data Factory, lakehouses , warehouses, notebooks, semantic models, pipelines, deployment pipelines, and Power BI integration.
n
n
n
n
n
- n
Experience supporting data platforms, operational analytics, executive reporting, self-service analytics, AI/ML enablement, and data-led business improvements.
n
n
n
n
n
- n
Ability to troubleshoot data pipelines, refresh failures, access issues, performance concerns, data quality defects, and integration problems across Fabric and related services.
n
n
n
n
n
- n
Ability to create support runbooks, data dictionaries, technical notes, user guides, release notes, incident updates, and support artefacts.
n
n
n
n
n
n
n
- n
Confident facilitator with experience running support reviews, incident triage sessions, data solution walkthroughs,
backlog reviews, and stakeholder briefings.
n
n
n
n
n
- n
Understanding of Microsoft Fabric governance, security, workspace management, data sensitivity, sharing models, capacity usage, access controls, and data lifecycle basics.
n
n
n
n
n
- n
Secondary working knowledge of Microsoft Foundry, Fabric Data Science, AI/ML workloads, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, connectors, and Microsoft 365 integration patterns.
n
n
n
n
n
- n
Solid communication , problem-solving, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.
n

Preferred Education and Experience
n
n
n
n
- n
3–5 years’ experience in D ata platform support, data engineering, analytics, business intelligence, application support, or solution delivery roles.
n
n
n
n
n
- n
Experience supporting data pipeline operations, report migration, lakehouse or warehouse improvement, semantic model support, analytics enablement, or managed services programs.
n
n
n
n
n
- n
Familiarity with SQL, Excel, SharePoint, Dataverse, APIs, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Fabric, Synapse, Power BI, Microsoft Foundry, or Dynamics 365 data sources.
n
n
n
n
n
- n
Exposure to Microsoft Foundry, notebooks, machine learning models, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, or broader Power Platform delivery is desirable.
n
n
n
n
n
- n
Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, data analytics, business systems, engineering, or related field .
n
n
n
n
n
- n
Candidates must be Australian citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance. Existing Australian Government security clearance is highly regarded.
