Psychiatrist - Consultant
n
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join an experienced and supportive Mental Health Service in Western Australia.
n The successful candidate will provide Consultant-led psychiatric care across inpatient, outpatient and community settings, managing patients with complex mental health conditions while working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team. Depending on your experience and interests, there are opportunities to develop specialist practice across a range of psychiatric subspecialties while contributing to leadership, education and service development.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
n

- Provide Consultant assessment, diagnosis and management of patients with complex mental health conditions.
n
- Deliver psychiatric care across inpatient, outpatient and community mental health services.
n
- Lead and support multidisciplinary mental health teams.
n
- Develop individualised treatment and recovery plans.
n
- Participate in clinical governance, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
n
- Supervise, mentor and teach junior medical staff.
n
- Contribute to service planning, innovation and ongoing service development.
n
- Promote evidence-based, patient-centred mental healthcare.
n
- Work collaboratively with allied health professionals and community services.
n

Person Specification

Qualifications & Registration

Essential
n

- UK CCT in Psychiatry or Irish CSCST in Psychiatry (or due to complete training shortly).
n
- Eligibility for Specialist Registration in Australia via the Expedited Specialist Pathway or another recognised specialist pathway.

Experience

- Consultant-level Psychiatry experience.
n
- Experience managing patients with complex mental health conditions.
n
- Broad experience across multidisciplinary mental health services.
n
- Strong clinical decision-making and risk assessment skills.

- Excellent communication and team-oriented working skills.
