The Role

n

We are seeking an experienced Level 3 SME (ASUP 5 / TECH 5) to join a high-performing team supporting critical applications and ICT services within a secure government workplace. The role is based in Canberra and supports mission-critical systems operating within highly secure Defence environments.

n

This position is ideal for a versatile technical professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex issues, working across a broad technology stack, and contributing to the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of enterprise platforms and services.

n

As a trusted technical specialist, you will play a key role in supporting both commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and bespoke applications while partnering with stakeholders to deliver excellent operational outcomes.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Provide Level 3 support and sustainment across a diverse portfolio of applications and platforms.
n
- Perform systems administration, application support, troubleshooting, and operational support activities.
n
- Investigate and resolve complex issues spanning applications, infrastructure, integrations, and supporting services.
n
- Support incident, problem, change, risk, and security management processes.
n




- Engage with technical and business stakeholders to deliver reliable service outcomes.
n
- Identify opportunities for automation, service improvement, innovation, and operational efficiency.
n
- Contribute to cloud optimisation and workload migration initiatives where appropriate.
n

What You'll Need

n

- Demonstrated experience in application support, systems administration, or application sustainment within enterprise or government environments.
n
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across complex technology environments.
n
- Experience across several of the following technologies:n n
- Windows Server

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

- SharePoint (On-Premises)

- Java, .NET, and C#
n
- SQL and Cassandra Database Administration

- Blue Prism
n
- IIS (Internet Information Services)

- Apache HTTP Server

- Apache Tomcat

- Tableau

- Enterprise middleware and integration platforms

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills

n

n
- Experience supporting Defence, National Security, or other secure government environments.
n
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise and mission-critical applications.
n
- Exposure to cloud transformation, automation, and modernisation initiatives.
n
- Current NV1 or NV2 Security Clearance.
n

n

Security Requirements

- Current NV1 Security Clearance as a minimum.
n
- NV2 Security Clearance highly regarded.
n
