The part you will play
As part of the Aboriginal Communities team you will work closely with the both internal and external stakeholders/Community. Working on:
- Design and delivery of meaningful community programs that respond to local needs and strengthen culture, wellbeing, connection and inclusion across the municipality.
- Build strong partnerships with Traditional Owners, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, local services and community groups to improve outcomes for Aboriginal communities.
- Support the Aboriginal Gathering Place to be a welcoming, inclusive, and culturally safe space for all.
- Drive reconciliation and cultural understanding by leading initiatives that strengthen relationships between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities and celebrate Aboriginal culture and history.
- Support and liaison with the Whittlesea Aboriginal Gathering Place Advisory Group
