We now have an exciting chance available for an Advisor – Native Title & Cultural Heritage to join our Access & Approvals team, based in Melbourne, VIC or Brisbane, QLD, on a full time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Manager, Native Title & Cultural Heritage, you will support the delivery of native title and cultural heritage activities across APA’s projects, while building robust relationships with Traditional Owners, native title groups and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide guidance and advice to project teams regarding native title and cultural heritage requirements.
- Progress native title and First Nations agreements to support project development and business growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Traditional Owners, native title groups and other key stakeholders.
- Coordinate consultation activities and associated logistics, including meetings, travel, site visits and stakeholder attendance, ensuring engagement aligns with cultural protocols and community expectations.
- Ensure native title, cultural heritage and statutory approval requirements are identified early and integrated into project planning.
- Ensure activities comply with legislative requirements, internal policies and governance obligations, including appropriate tracking, reporting and assurance.

Your Background

- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, such as Anthropology, Archaeology, Law or a related field.
- Experience in Indigenous engagement, relationship management, agreement negotiations and/or project approvals.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills, including the ability to manage meeting logistics, stakeholder engagement activities and competing priorities.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement,



negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently, including to regional and remote project locations, to support stakeholder engagement, meetings and site activities.

About the Team The Access, Approvals and Geospatial Solutions – Infrastructure Delivery East team is committed to building strong relationships, securing land access and project approvals, and fostering positive community outcomes across all stages of project development. We support the delivery of energy infrastructure projects for APA Group across Australia by providing expert services in land access, regulatory planning and approvals.

We provide end-to-end land access, environmental and planning support for new development projects. Our services span gas transmission, gas-fired power generation, future fuels, renewable energy and power transmission infrastructure.
