Brief Intro A growing Australian technology company is looking for an AI Engineer to help turn large-scale 3D sensor and geospatial datasets into production-ready intelligence. You'll work across machine learning, spatial data processing and software engineering, building the models and pipelines that power the company's data platform.
Key Skills
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Geospatial Science, Physics or related field.
- Experience building and deploying machine learning or computer vision models.
- Strong Python for research and production code.
- PyTorch or TensorFlow experience.
- Background in LiDAR, photogrammetry, remote sensing or geospatial data.
- Point cloud processing (LAS/LAZ, PDAL, Open3D) and geospatial tools (GDAL,
PostGIS, QGIS).
- Git, CI/CD and robust software engineering fundamentals.
- Comfortable working with large-scale, real-world spatial datasets.
Non-essential/Beneficial Skills
- Experience with laser scanning hardware (terrestrial or aerial).
- 3D/vegetation-specific point cloud algorithms.
- MLOps: model versioning, monitoring and retraining pipelines.
- Background or interest in environmental science or sustainability.
- Exposure to remote sensing for natural resource management.
