Role Description The Airfield Lighting Electrical Engineer is a full-time remote role responsible for designing, reviewing, and optimising electrical systems for aeronautical ground lighting across diverse airport environments. Day-to-day tasks include developing and reviewing AGL electrical designs, power distribution, control systems, as well as preparing technical documentation, drawings, and specifications.
The engineer will support installation and commissioning activities, perform condition and compliance assessments, and contribute to project QA, construction monitoring, and certification reviews.
The role involves collaborating with project managers, airport operators, and contractors, providing technical advisory input, and supporting asset management and maintenance planning.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Electrical Design and Power Distribution.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering with eligibility for professional accreditation or registration where applicable.
- Experience in aeronautical ground lighting and apron floodlighting systems is highly beneficial.
Candidates must have the legal right to live and work in Australia.
- Proficiency with relevant design tools and standards, robust analytical and problem-solving abilities, and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and travel occasionally to airport sites when required.
- Commitment to safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement in engineering practices and asset lifecycle management.
