YOURS. Hair Collective is looking for a 1st 2nd 3rd Year Hairdressing Apprentice who genuinely wants to learn the craft, get involved and build a career in the industry.

We’re a boutique colour and extensions salon in Leumeah, South West Sydney, with a solid focus on personalised colour, healthy hair, client experience and education.

You don’t need to know everything already.

What we care about much more is your attitude, reliability, curiosity and willingness to actually get involved.

What your apprenticeship will look like:

We want to develop you into a confident, capable Hairdresser not keep you shampooing for four years and suddenly expect you to know how to run a column.

You’ll learn through a combination of formal training, education, observation and real hands-on salon experience.

Depending on where you are in your apprenticeship, you’ll gradually develop skills across consultations, shampooing and treatments, blow-drying, styling, colour preparation and application, toning, foiling, cutting, client care, product knowledge and salon operations.

As your confidence and skills grow, so will your responsibilities.

Yes, salon jobs are part of it too:

You’ll also help with basins, laundry, cleaning, resetting stations, refreshments, stock, keeping the salon organised and generally making sure the day runs properly.

But here’s the important bit:

Everyone contributes to the salon.

You’re not joining us to become the designated apprentice cleaner while everyone else walks past the mess.





Learning how a professional salon operates is part of becoming a good Hairdresser — and we’ll expect you to contribute to it just like the rest of us do.

We’re looking for someone who:

- Is currently a 1st 2nd 3rd Year Hairdressing Apprentice, or ready to commence their first year.
- Genuinely wants a long-term career in hairdressing.
- Is curious and asks questions.
- Wants feedback rather than taking correction personally.
- Is reliable and understands that turning up on time matters.
- Has initiative and doesn’t need to be asked five times to do something.
- Is friendly and comfortable talking with clients.
- Takes pride in their presentation and their work.
- Enjoys being part of a team.
- Is interested in colour, styling and modern salon work.
- Is willing to practise and develop their skills.
- Understands that becoming great at something requires effort.

Salon experience is helpful for a 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice, but for a new 1st Year Apprentice we’re much more interested in finding the right person than somebody who already knows everything.

What you’ll get from us:

This is a genuine apprenticeship with the intention of developing you into a Hairdresser who can confidently work behind the chair.

You’ll receive





- Full-time employment and formal apprenticeship training.
- A 38-hour, four-five day working week.
