Job Description

As one of the founding team, you'll work directly with the CEO to build the finance function from the ground up – establishing the systems, controls and reporting needed to support a rapidly scaling workforce. This is a genuinely hands‑on role. Initially, you'll own the day‑to‑day finance function yourself while designing the processes and structure that future team members will slot into.

Key responsibilities n

- Own management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow
n
- Manage AR and AP during the initial growth phase
n
- Review outsourced payroll outputs and ensure accuracy
n
- Establish financial controls, governance and reporting
n
- Manage banking and funding requirements
n
- Build financial models to support business decisions
n
- Integrate Xero with CVL's workforce/recruitment platforms
n
- Improve reporting and automate manual finance processes
n
- Build a scalable finance structure as the business grows
n

About you nn
- Experienced Finance Manager / Financial Controller with strong hands‑on capability
n




- Proven success building a finance function in start up or growth businesses
n
- Ideally experienced in labour hire, workforce services or another high‑volume operational environment
n
- Solid Xero capability and confidence working across business systems
n
- Commercially minded with strong cash flow, forecasting and management accounting experience
n
- Comfortable working in an early‑stage business where not everything is built yet
n
- Able to move between strategic advice and getting into the detail
n
- CA/CPA or accounting qualification highly regarded
n
