We’re looking for an experienced and reliable Assistant / Floor Manager to join our team at Pepe’s Mexican in Newmarket.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys hospitality, is confident leading a team, and can keep a busy service running smoothly. You’ll work closely with the Restaurant Manager and help oversee the floor during service.
About the role
Your responsibilities will include
- Supervising and supporting the floor team during service
- Helping coordinate the restaurant during busy periods
- Ensuring excellent customer service and handling customer enquiries or issues
- Supporting staff with their sections, service standards and day-to-day tasks
- Running pre-service briefings and communicating service expectations
- Helping with opening and closing procedures
- Assisting with bookings, functions and special requests
- Monitoring table service and ensuring the restaurant is running efficiently
- Training and supporting current team members
- Helping maintain our service, presentation and hospitality standards
- Working closely with the Restaurant Manager on day-to-day operations
- Stepping up and taking responsibility for the floor when required
About you We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in a supervisory, senior waitstaff or floor management role
- Is confident leading a team and making decisions during service
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills
- Can stay calm and organised in a busy environment
- Is reliable, responsible and takes initiative
- Has a positive attitude and enjoys working as part of a team
- Is comfortable giving direction and supporting other team members
- Has a genuine interest in hospitality and creating a great customer experience
Previous restaurant management experience is highly regarded, but we’re also open to an experienced Senior Waiter / Supervisor who is ready to take the next step.

Availability: Weekend availability is a must. We usually rotate weekend shifts within the management team to keep the roster fair for everyone, so we’re looking for someone who is happy to work weekends as part of a rotating roster.
