About the Role

Assistant Head of Religious Education

St Aloysius’ College is seeking an experienced and committed Assistant Head of Religious Education to join the College in a full-time, ongoing position commencing Term I, 2027.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the academic leadership and continued development of the Religious Education Department.

Reporting to the Head of Religious Education, you will support the coordination of curriculum, teaching and assessment programs, departmental planning and administrative processes. You will work collaboratively with staff to promote high standards of teaching and learning and support the ongoing development of the department.

The successful candidate will be a passionate and collaborative educator with strong organisational, curriculum and leadership skills. You will bring a commitment to high academic expectations and a genuine dedication to Catholic, Jesuit education, supporting the development of faith, justice and virtues within our students.

Your application To be considered for this position, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate:

- A commitment to the mission of Catholic education for boys in the Jesuit tradition.
- Relevant teaching qualifications and current accreditation with NESA, with demonstrated experience in Religious Education.




- Experience or demonstrated capacity in teaching Stage 6 Studies of Religion;
- Experience in curriculum planning, development and review, with a strong understanding of assessment practices.
- Demonstrated leadership capability and the ability to support and develop teaching staff.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive culture of professional learning and excellence.
- A commitment to maintaining high academic expectations and supporting positive student learning outcomes.
- A genuine commitment to supporting the development of faith, justice and virtues in students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across the College community.
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
