About This Position

Reporting to the General Manager, Marketing & Commercial, the Associate Director, Partnerships & Events leads the day-to-day delivery of MCB’s Partnerships & Events function, turning strategy into commercial, engagement and event outcomes.

Leading the Partnerships Manager and Events Manager, you’ll oversee MCB’s partnership program and events calendar, with accountability for partnership revenue, partner engagement, strategic relationships and the effective delivery of key industry and stakeholder events.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can balance commercial thinking with exceptional relationship management and event delivery, while bringing structure, momentum and robust operational discipline to a busy portfolio.

Key Responsibilities Include

- Lead MCB’s partnership program across acquisition, retention, engagement, revenue performance, partner value and new business opportunities.
- Develop and manage strong relationships with strategic partners, members, industry stakeholders and suppliers.
- Oversee MCB’s annual calendar of partner, industry, stakeholder and client events, including networking, education, familiarisation and signature events.
- Lead operational planning and delivery of MCB’s involvement in AIME and associated destination showcase activity.
- Lead, coach and develop the Partnerships Manager and Events Manager, providing clear direction, feedback and support.
- Manage budgets, revenue forecasts, procurement, contracts, suppliers,



risk controls and event safety across the function.
- Translate strategy into clear annual plans, priorities, measures and delivery schedules, and provide meaningful reporting and recommendations.
- Work closely with Marketing, Communications and other MCB teams to ensure partnership and event activity supports broader business priorities.

About You

You are a commercially minded and relationship-focused leader who knows how to turn strategy into action. You’re comfortable managing multiple priorities, leading people and working across partnerships, events and stakeholder engagement to deliver strong outcomes.

You’ll bring sound judgement, strong commercial capability and the confidence to build trusted relationships with partners, suppliers and senior stakeholders.

You will bring:

- Demonstrated experience leading teams and delivering outcomes across partnerships, business development, account management, events or a comparable commercial environment.
- Strong commercial capability, including revenue planning, forecasting, negotiation and contract management.
- Experience translating strategy into practical plans, priorities, budgets and measurable outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing and relationship-building skills.
- Experience overseeing complex events or programs, including supplier management, governance, risk and evaluation.
- Strong people leadership capability, including coaching, performance management and workload prioritisation.
- Experience within business events, tourism or a related industry, along with established industry networks, will be highly regarded.
- A relevant qualification in business, marketing, tourism, events or a related discipline will also be well regarded.
