Associate – Infrastructure Investments – Private Capital Investment Firm – Sydney or Melbourne
- Execute acquisitions and divestments across energy transition and broader infrastructure assets.
- Combine transaction execution with active portfolio management and fund-level responsibilities.
- Gain early responsibility across financial modelling, due diligence, valuations and investment committee materials.
A leading private capital investment firm is seeking an Associate to join its infrastructure investment team in Sydney or Melbourne, at a genuinely exciting point in the platform's growth. Sustained deal flow across renewable generation, energy storage and broader infrastructure has created the need for this hire, alongside an expanding mandate to actively manage existing investments and drive strategic portfolio initiatives.
This is a rare opportunity to build a career at the coalface of Australia's energy transition. The Associate will assess new investment opportunities, build and maintain sophisticated financial models, run due diligence workstreams and drive acquisitions and divestments from inception through completion. Work will span investment committee papers, valuation materials and investor reporting, with direct exposure to senior investors,
portfolio company management teams, lenders and external advisers.
The remit also extends to asset valuations, refinancing processes, commercial initiatives, fund reporting and asset optimisation – giving the successful candidate genuine breadth across the investment lifecycle, not just origination.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 2-4 years' experience within M&A; Investment Banking, Infrastructure or Private Equity investing, Valuations, Project Finance or a related transactional environment.
- Strong financial modelling and valuation capabilities, coupled with transaction execution experience across acquisitions, financings or advisory mandates.
- Good understanding of energy transition assets and the Australian and Current Zealand energy markets.
- Knowledge of infrastructure contractual frameworks, project financing structures and government support mechanisms will be highly regarded.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline, with further qualifications such as the CFA viewed favourably.
