Who we are

We are a little kiosk by the Cooks River a short stroll from Marrickville and Tempe station. We serve amazing coffee supplied by Double Tap and Sample coffee Roasters.

The Role

We're looking for an outstanding Barista to run the espresso bar at Cooks River Canteen and carry forward the high standards of our coffee program. You'll need at least 3 years' experience as a barista in a quality-focused specialty coffee setting.

We want someone driven, technically skilled, and confident both behind the machine and with customers. You'll take full ownership of coffee quality — dialing in, controlling extraction, refining workflow, and keeping consistency across every shift while also developing the team. You'll set the pace at the machine during rushes and make sure every cup hits the mark.

The right person will:

- Have solid specialty coffee knowledge across both espresso and filter
- Pay close attention to brewing variables and extraction detail
- Stay calm and lead confidently under pressure




- Hold very high standards for cleanliness, workflow, and presentation
- Be committed to consistency and constant improvement

The Candidate Has

The Candidate Has A minimum of 3 years' experience working in a quality-driven espresso bar

Excellent communication skills and places the utmost value on customer service The ability to multitask effectively, maintaining quality and efficiency across multiple sections of the kiosk when required

Availability to work weekends, including both Saturday and Sunday

Pay: $35.00 – $48.41 per hour
