Role Description The Behaviour Therapist role at ABA Kids is a full-time, on-site position based in Melbourne, VIC. The therapist will implement individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs with children up to 14 years of age, focusing on communication, social skills, play, and daily living skills. Day-to-day tasks include conducting therapy sessions in clinic, home, or community settings; collecting and recording behavioral data; and following treatment plans developed by supervising clinicians.
The role involves collaborating with families, caregivers, and other professionals, providing progress updates,
and assisting in program adjustments as needed.
The Behaviour
Therapist is also expected to participate in regular supervision, training sessions, and team meetings to maintain best practice and professional growth.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young people in therapeutic, educational, or support settings, ideally within autism or developmental disability services.
- Understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles or a strong interest in developing ABA therapy skills under supervision.
- Robust interpersonal, communication, and rapport-building skills with children, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to follow structured intervention plans, collect data accurately, and maintain clear documentation.
- Capacity to work on-site in Melbourne, VIC, with reliable availability for a full-time schedule.
- Relevant tertiary study (completed or in progress) in Psychology, Education, Allied Health, Social Work, or a related field is highly regarded.
- Willingness to undergo required background checks, obtain Working With Children Check, and meet local safeguarding requirements.
