Help shape the future of cancer support in the Capital Region

Rise Above Capital Region Cancer Support is seeking passionate and community-minded people to join our Board and help shape the future of cancer support across the Capital Region. Learn more about us at riseabovecbr.org.au.

You don’t need previous Board or governance experience to make a difference.

We are particularly interested in people who bring skills, knowledge or perspectives that complement our existing Board capability. You may be an experienced professional, someone early in your career, a community leader, or someone with lived experience who wants to contribute in a meaningful way. You will help shape the strategic direction and help the CEO contribute to direct outcomes for our patients and their families!

We’re looking for people with skills or experience in areas such as:

- Corporate partnerships and sponsorship – building relationships with businesses and community organisations
- Health, cancer or social services – bringing sector knowledge and insight
- Advocacy and stakeholder engagement – helping amplify the needs and experiences of people affected by cancer
- Lived experience and consumer perspectives – ensuring the voices of people affected by cancer inform our decisions
- Commercial and revenue strategy – exploring new and sustainable ways to generate income




- Legal, regulatory and risk – bringing practical experience in these areas

We are looking for people who are curious, collaborative and committed to our purpose. If you have expertise in one of the areas above but have never sat on a Board before, we would love to hear from you. You might have developed these skills through your career, volunteering, community involvement, small business, qualified networks or lived experience. What matters most is what you can bring to the conversation and your willingness to contribute.
