We are seeking a Bookkeeper to join our tight-knit West Perth team in a newly created role supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will provide hands-on support across accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, payroll and month-end activities across multiple entities. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented Bookkeeper looking for a varied role within a professional and diverse business.
The position:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, payments, customer receipts and debtor follow-up.
- Complete bank, credit card, customer and supplier reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure transactions are correctly coded and supported.
- Assist with month-end processes, including reconciliations, accruals and journals.
- Assist with BAS, GST and other statutory reporting requirements.
- Maintain employee records and provide backup support for payroll as required.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and internal/external audit requirements.
- Maintain accurate financial information within accounting and ERP systems and assist with system upgrades or implementations.
- Respond to finance queries and provide general finance and administrative support to the Finance Manager and broader team.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Bookkeeper, Accounts Officer, Accounts Administrator or similar finance role.
- Relevant qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Administration or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations.
- Experience supporting general ledger and month-end processes.
- Working knowledge of GST, BAS and Australian taxation requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB or other ERP/accounting systems, with strong Excel skills.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confident written and verbal communication skills with a proactive and collaborative approach.
- Self-motivated, reliable and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working across multiple companies or entities will be highly regarded.
