ABOUT THE FRED HOLLOWS FOUNDATION The Foundation is an international development organisation working to prevent blindness and restore sight. We continue to carry on the legacy of Professor Fred Hollows, who believed every person had the right to quality eye care, no matter where they live. The Foundation has grown to work in more than 25 countries throughout Africa, South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and the Pacific, as well as Australia.

The Foundation has restored sight to more than 3 million people worldwide. We have an ambitious five-year strategic plan that aims to take us even closer to realising our vision of a world in which no person is needlessly blind, or vision impaired and Indigenous Australians exercise their right to sight and good health.

THE OPPORTUNITY The Fred Hollows Foundation is one of Australia’s most trusted and respected not-for-profit organisations, with a highly regarded brand and a bold mission to end avoidable blindness. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Communications and Brand Specialist with expertise in brand insight to join our team. In this role, you will champion, protect and strengthen the Foundation’s brand, ensuring it remains consistent, compelling and impactful across all channels, audiences and markets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Brand and Reputation:

- Champion and protect The Foundation's brand across all markets, channels and audiences.
- Ensure brand consistency, governance and effective implementation of brand standards.
- Support brand development, positioning and reputation management initiatives.
- Provide strategic advice to stakeholders on brand and communications best practice.

Strategic Communications and Storytelling:





- Develop and deliver communications strategies that support organisational priorities.
- Translate complex information into clear, compelling and audience-focused messaging.
- Create high-quality content and storytelling that demonstrates impact, inspires action and strengthens engagement with key audiences.

Stakeholder Engagement and Audience Experience:

- Build strong relationships with agencies, suppliers and sector partners.
- Ensure communications are tailored to audience needs and aligned across channels.

Campaign and Communications Delivery:

- Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of communications and brand campaigns.
- Manage and oversee external agencies and suppliers to achieve high-quality outcomes.
- Manage competing priorities, workflows, approvals, budgets and timelines.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

- Tertiary qualifications in media, marketing, or communications related fields.
- Prior demonstrated experience in brand management, communications, public relations or marketing.
- Experience managing agencies, suppliers or external partners.
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience developing communications plans and campaigns aligned to strategic objectives.
- Strong understanding of brand positioning, audience segmentation and messaging frameworks.
- Understanding of digital communications and content delivery across multiple channels.
- Relationship management, collaboration, strategic thinking, planning, communication and influencing skills.
- Excellent written communication, editing and storytelling skills.
