Local business needs brewery hand and delivery driver. This is not a job for someone who wants to sit behind a steering wheel all day — if this is you, please don't apply.

Likely full-time equivalent hours (37.5 per week).

HINT: THERE ARE TWO QUESTIONS FURTHER DOWN THIS AD. IF YOU DON'T ANSWER BOTH, YOUR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Your time will be split ~50/50 between:

1. Brewery Hand: Washing and filling kegs, and
2. Driver: Delivering kegs to customers.

Each large keg weighs 22kg and you'll need to move these by hand. The work is physical and repetitive (and the brewery can be hot), but the pace will be steady. We want the job done right, not fast. And we have the tools and processes to support you.

Once you're trained, you'll run your own day. Nobody looking over your shoulder.

You NEED to be physically strong, calm, methodical, reliable and resilient.

Start in October, no weekend work and delivery van provided.

Hours and pay The role is casual for the season, with hours likely to be around 37.5 per week. Hours may vary with demand. There's potential for a permanent part-time or full-time role from April 2027.

October 2026 – March 2027: Casual.

April 2027 onwards: Potential for permanent role depending on performance.

This is to be discussed with you and confirmed, but your week will look similar to:

- Monday to Friday
- 6:30am–2:30pm (8 hour days), including half-hour unpaid break
- Total 37.5 paid hours per week

$33–$35 per hour plus superannuation, depending on experience. No experience necessary — we'll train you, and we'll review your rate once you're up to speed.

The role

Monday: In the brewery, washing, cleaning and sanitising the kegs that came back from last week's runs. It's repetitive, and it's what keeps our product safe, so it gets done properly every time.

Tuesday to Friday: Load the van and run deliveries across the metro area (~half day), then back to the brewery to fill kegs from our tanks and move them into fridges.

Deliveries aren't drop-and-run — at each stop you'll check stock and gas levels and log notes in our app. You'll also be trained to clean customer coffee lines.

Filling kegs is one of the most important jobs in the brewery. Cold brew coffee is not shelf-stable, so the filling process is multi-step and requires a careful and methodical approach.

About us

Filament Coffee brews nitro cold brew in Perth and delivers it on tap to over 60 venues (mostly cafes) across the metro area. We've been doing it for ten years. We're a small team — two owners and our head brewer — and we're heading into our busiest season.

We're supportive, forgiving of honest mistakes, and always around to help you learn. We won't leave you guessing about how you're going.

When you apply

Please answer the following 2 questions in your cover letter. Applications without answers won't be considered.

1. Why is filling kegs one of the most key jobs in the brewery?
2. Tell us about the most physically demanding job you've done.

What you need Did we mention you NEED to be physically strong, calm, methodical, reliable and resilient! (In a potentially hot brewery setting in the peak of Summer.)

Other requirements

- Valid WA driver's licence (automatic only is ok); our delivery van is an automatic Renault Kangoo, fitted with custom keg racks.
- Able to repeatedly, safely and carefully lift 22kg. There's no forklift and no loading dock.
- Ability to work autonomously. We'll ride with you in the delivery van until you're comfortable, then you'll be on your own. In the brewery you'll be working alongside our head brewer. He likes to work heads-down and you'll be expected to get on with things in harmony.
- Kind, friendly and polite. You'll be the face of our business on the road and we expect you to represent us positively and be helpful at all times.

What you don't need Experience in coffee, brewing or delivery driving. We'll teach you all of it.

To apply

Send your CV and a short cover letter answering both questions above.
