From humble beginnings, we’ve grown rapidly to become a leader in the road transport equipment industry, helping to shape the future of transport across Australia.

Business & IT Systems Manager
Full-time | Forrestfield, WA | Bruce Rock Engineering
About the Role
Bruce Rock Engineering is looking for an experienced Business & IT Systems Manager to lead our newly combined Business Systems and IT functions across the Bruce Rock Engineering group. This is a key leadership role that brings together our Epicor support and IT teams under one structure, providing strategic direction, operational oversight and people leadership across both functions.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring our core business systems and IT infrastructure are secure, reliable, well supported and continuously improving. You’ll work closely with leaders across the business to understand their needs, translate them into practical technology solutions and ensure our systems continue to support the way we operate.
A big focus of the role will also be on building capability and consistency — developing structured Epicor training, improving processes, and ensuring key systems, configurations and knowledge are properly documented and accessible across the team.
This is a hands-on leadership prospect for someone who can think strategically while still being comfortable getting into the detail when required.
The role is based in Forrestfield, with travel to our regional sites as required.
What You'll Do
- Lead and provide strategic direction across the Business Systems and IT functions, aligning technology and system roadmaps with business priorities.
- Lead, coach and develop the Business Systems and IT team, building capability and succession across the functions.
- Oversee the performance, availability, security and reliability of Epicor and other core business systems, as well as IT infrastructure, networks and end-user technology.
- Develop and monitor KPIs and service standards, driving improvements in system reliability and support responsiveness.
- Lead Epicor and IT projects from scoping and prioritisation through to delivery, testing and implementation.
- Establish effective change management processes, including testing, user acceptance and communication to minimise disruption to the business.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, developers and service providers, ensuring service levels and value for money are achieved.
- Partner with business leaders across our sites to understand requirements and deliver practical systems and technology solutions.
- Oversee backup, disaster recovery, business continuity and cyber security requirements across the organisation.
- Develop and maintain a structured Epicor training program for new and existing users, including in-person training and workshops across our locations.
- Monitor training effectiveness and continuously improve training content and delivery.
- Establish and maintain a central repository of documentation covering key processes, workflows, system configurations and IT procedures.
- Promote a "document as you go" culture to ensure knowledge is shared and not reliant on individuals.
- Ensure appropriate system access controls, data governance and security practices are maintained.
- Support a safe, compliant and positive working environment across the team.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced technology leader who can bring together two previously separate functions and create a collaborative, responsive and service-focused team. You’ll be someone who can build trust, communicate confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and balance strategic thinking with practical problem-solving.
Essential:
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology or a related field, or significant relevant experience.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in IT, ERP, business systems or a related technology environment.
- Minimum 3 years' experience leading or managing an IT, ERP, business systems or technology team.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems and how they support business processes.
- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, hardware and security fundamentals.
- Proven experience managing budgets, vendors and multiple projects.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to bring people together, build trust and develop capability.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple functions.
- A proactive mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
Desirable:
- Experience with Epicor / Kinetic ERP.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within the road transport or trailer industry.
- Experience designing and delivering end-user training programs.
- Experience with data analytics.
- Project management experience or qualification.
- Formal people leadership or management qualification.
