About the role

Vacationer Caravans is seeking a skilled CAD Designer, Cabinet Builder to join our Production, Planning & Scheduling team. This is a full-time position based in Campbellfield, VIC 3061. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and documenting cabinet solutions using CAD software, translating customer requirements and design concepts into detailed technical drawings that guide our manufacturing and production processes.

You will play a crucial part in ensuring our products meet quality standards, production timelines and customer specifications, whilst supporting our broader manufacturing objectives.

What we're looking for

Position 1

Model caravan cabinetry in Pytha & Inventor from floorplans, customer specifications and sales handover notes, working to the van's wall, floor, Electrical and chassis datums.

- Model caravan cabinetry in Inventor Pytha / SolidWorks from floorplans, customer specifications and sales handover notes, working to the van's wall, floor and chassis datas.

- Proficiency in CAD software (such as AutoCAD, Inventor), with demonstrable experience creating technical drawings and designs

- Knowledge of cabinet construction, joinery and manufacturing processes within the caravan, furniture or similar manufacturing industry

- Strong technical drawing and documentation skills with attention to detail and accuracy

- Experience working in a production setting and understanding of manufacturing constraints and timelines

- Ability to interpret customer specifications and translate them into practical, buildable designs

- Positive communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams

- Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving design-related challenges

- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and safety requirements
- A qualification in CAD design, engineering, or related field would be advantageous

Position 2

We build custom and production caravans from the chassis up,



and the cabinetry is what our customers see and touch every day. As a Cabinet Maker / Caravan Builder you'll fabricate, assemble and fit the internal cabinetry and joinery of each van — kitchens, wardrobes, overhead cupboards, bed bases, dinettes, ensuite units — and work alongside the chassis, wall, electrical and plumbing teams to bring each build through to final fit-out. You'll be working with lightweight ply, laminated board, aluminium extrusion, composite panel and solid-surface benchtops, to tolerances that have to survive corrugated roads.

Key responsibilities

- Read and interpret production drawings, cutting lists and customer specifications, and raise any discrepancies before cutting.

- Cut, edge, drill and assemble cabinetry components using panel saws, Edgebanders, CNC and hand tools, and machine components from drawings where required.

- Assemble carcasses, doors, drawers and hardware (soft-close runners, push-latches, gas struts, caravan-grade catches) and fit units into the van squarely and securely to the floor and wall structure.

- Install benchtops, splashbacks, tables and trims, and fit out around appliances, sinks, cooktops and 12V fittings in coordination with the electrical and plumbing trades.

- Maintain tools and machinery, keep the work area clean, follow safe work procedures and contribute to continuous improvement of jigs, processes and material use.

- Certificate III in Cabinet Making (or equivalent trade qualification), or demonstrated equivalent experience in cabinetry, joinery, shopfitting or caravan/motorhome manufacture.

- Confident use of panel saws,



edgebanders, routers and hand power tools, with the ability to work to millimetre tolerances.

- Ability to read technical drawings and work from cutting lists with minimal supervision.

- Experience in caravan, boat or vehicle fit-out is highly regarded but not essential; we'll train the right cabinet maker in the caravan-specific side.

- Sound understanding of workplace safety, including safe manual handling and machine guarding.

- Reliable, takes pride in finish quality, and works well as part of a production team under weekly build targets.

- A forklift licence and White Card are an advantage.
