Hospitality | Pub Environment | Casual - Inner West area
We are looking for an energetic, reliable and customer-focused Casual Bar & Gaming Attendant to join our hospitality team.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a busy pub environment and can provide consistently friendly and professional service across both bar and gaming operations.
Previous bar or gaming experience is highly regarded; however, we are also open to applicants with the right attitude who are willing to learn.
About the Role
As a Bar & Gaming Attendant, you will be responsible for delivering a welcoming and professional experience to customers while assisting with the day-to-day operation of the venue.
Your duties may include
- Providing friendly and efficient bar service
- Preparing and serving beer, wine, spirits and basic mixed drinks
- Operating POS systems and handling cash/EFTPOS transactions
- Providing attentive customer service within the gaming area
- Assisting customers with gaming-related enquiries where appropriate
- Maintaining presentation and cleanliness of bar and gaming areas
- Restocking bars, fridges and service areas throughout shifts
- Completing routine cleaning and venue presentation duties
- Following venue cash-handling and security procedures
- Monitoring the venue environment and escalating concerns to management
- Complying with Responsible Service of Alcohol and Responsible Conduct of Gambling requirements
- Following venue policies, procedures and management direction
- Working collaboratively with managers and other team members during busy periods
Essential Criteria
To be considered for the role, applicants must:
- Hold a current RSA Competency Card
- Hold current RCG / Advanced RCG competency requirements applicable to the role, or be willing to obtain them prior to commencing employment
- Have a strong customer-service mindset and skilled attitude
- Be confident communicating with a wide range of customers
- Be reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Be comfortable working in a quick-paced hospitality environment
- Demonstrate good attention to detail, particularly when handling cash and transactions
- Be willing to follow venue procedures, compliance requirements and management directions
- Have availability across a mixture of evenings, late nights, weekends and public holidays
- Have appropriate Australian working rights
Highly Regarded
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
- Previous bar, pub, club or gaming experience
- Previous experience working with gaming machines or gaming-floor operations
- Cocktail or mixed-drink experience
- Experience using hospitality POS systems
- Cash-handling and cashier experience
- Experience working late-night hospitality shifts
- Knowledge of responsible gambling and licensed venue procedures
