Casual Venue / Duty Manager or Teamleader – Sydney Inner West

We’re seeking experienced and motivated Casual Venue Managers, Duty Managers or hospitality Team leaders to join our growing multi-venue hotel group across Sydney’s Inner West.

This is an excellent opportunity for hospitality leaders who enjoy being hands-on, leading teams from the floor and taking ownership of venue operations across bar, gaming and general hotel operations.

About the Role

As a Venue or Duty Manager, you will play an significant role in the day-to-day operation of the venue. You’ll be responsible for leading the team during your shift, maintaining high operational standards, supporting compliance requirements and ensuring our customers receive professional and consistent service.

We’re looking for managers who are comfortable making decisions, solving problems and taking accountability for their area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee day-to-day venue operations across bar, gaming and general hotel areas.

- Lead, supervise and support staff throughout each shift.

- Conduct effective shift briefings and maintain clear communication between teams and management.

- Maintain high standards of customer service, presentation and venue cleanliness.

- Ensure compliance with RSA, RCG, liquor, gaming, WHS and venue procedures.

- Monitor gaming operations and ensure appropriate responsible gambling practices are followed.

- Handle customer enquiries, complaints and incidents professionally.

- Assist with staff rostering, attendance and operational coverage.

- Assist with stock control, cash handling, reconciliations and operational reporting.

- Respond to and troubleshoot operational issues involving POS, gaming and cash-redemption equipment.

- Complete required incident reports, shift reports and management documentation.

- Undertake an allocated management portfolio and take ownership and accountability for the standards,



administration and ongoing performance of that area.

- Support the Venue Manager and senior management with continuous improvement initiatives across the venue.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is confident, reliable and comfortable taking responsibility for a busy hospitality environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

- Previous experience as a Duty Manager, Venue Manager, Supervisor or senior hospitality team member.

- Experience across bar, gaming and/or hotel operations.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, direct and support staff.

- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.

- Strong customer service and conflict-resolution skills.

- A sound understanding of liquor and gaming compliance requirements.

- Current RSA competency.

- Current RCG / Advanced RCG competency, where required for the role.

- Availability to work a flexible roster including nights, weekends and public holidays.

- Willingness to complete required AML/CTF training and certification.

- Strong communication and organisational skills.

- Confidence using hospitality technology and operational systems.

Experience with the following will be highly regarded but is not essential:

- EBET gaming systems

- SwiftPOS
- eCash / Cash Redemption Terminals (CRTs)

- Gaming machine and TITO operations

- Cash handling and gaming reconciliations

- Rostering and workforce management systems

- Troubleshooting POS, gaming and CRT equipment
