About the role

We are seeking several enthusiastic and motivated individuals to undertake a Cert I in Workplace Skills Traineeship for 20 weeks paid employment funded through the Qld Governments Skilling Queenslanders for Work programs with Wounded Heroes located in Hyde Park, Queensland. These are full-time traineeships designed to provide you with foundational workplace skills, industry knowledge and practical experience working in within our OpShop and Warehousing environments. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your career whilst contributing to an organisation that makes a real difference in veterans' lives.

The traineeship will equip you with essential competencies to succeed in the workplace and open doors to future employment opportunities.

Key responsibilities

- Complete formal training components of the Cert I in Workplace Skills qualification

- Perform general OpShop tasks including cleaning, customer service, cash handling and merchandising

- Provide support to existing staff in their daily operational requirements

- Answer telephones, manage enquiries and direct communications appropriately

- Assist with receiving donated goods, qualifying goods to ensure they are saleable and cleaning goods for sale

- Attend workshops designed to increase your work readiness skills

- Contribute to maintaining a professional and organised work setting

- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality and a commitment to learning throughout the traineeship

- Engage constructively with mentors and supervisors to develop workplace competencies

- No prior experience necessary – we welcome school leavers and those seeking to start their career
