Change Manager 12-month fixed-term contract | Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney

National role with frequent travel A significant national digital transformation is underway, and its success will depend on how well people are supported through it.

We're partnering with a large, purpose-led Australian organisation to find a Change Manager who can bring its people with it as new systems, tools and ways of working are introduced across a network of 30 locations.

The organisation is candid about wanting to do change better. It has listened to the lessons from earlier programs and is investing in a more thoughtful and connected approach that starts with people, respects the realities of frontline work and gives teams the confidence to adopt change well.

Joining a collaborative technology working group with active executive sponsorship, you'll shape and lead the people side of several digital and technology initiatives. You'll work closely with leaders, project teams and employees to understand what each change means in practice and make sure people feel heard, prepared and supported.

This is a visible, hands-on role. You'll spend time on site, build relationships face to face and stay close to the people who will use the new technology every day. Regular national travel across all 30 locations is an essential part of the role.

What you will do

- Shape and lead an integrated change strategy across a portfolio of digital and technology initiatives, from early discovery through to adoption and sustainment.
- Partner with the executive sponsor, technology working group, program leaders and operational teams to keep the people experience central to delivery.
- Visit locations nationally to listen first-hand, understand local realities and tailor the change approach for different teams and communities.

- Complete stakeholder, change impact and readiness assessments, then turn those insights into clear and practical action plans.
- Translate complex technology and process changes into communication, training and support that make sense to the people affected.
- Facilitate workshops, coaching and engagement sessions that encourage honest conversation and build confidence.
- Work through resistance with curiosity, empathy and sound judgement, while being prepared to have the direct conversations change sometimes requires.
- Track feedback, readiness and adoption, identify concerns early and work with project teams to respond quickly.
- Help strengthen the organisation's change capability so each initiative leaves useful knowledge and better ways of working behind.

What you will bring

You may already be an established Change Manager, or you may be a high-performing Senior Change Analyst who has stepped into change leadership and is ready to own a role of this scale. Either way, you will have led meaningful pieces of change and worked directly with the people affected by it.

- Robust experience across change management, transformation or organisational change environments.
- Experience leading change activities through implementation in a complex, multi-site or national organisation.
- Exposure to digital or technology-led transformation and an understanding of how new tools affect day-to-day work.

- Experience supporting frontline, operational or service-based teams will be highly regarded.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the confidence to influence from the frontline through to senior leadership.
- Clear communication, facilitation, coaching and training capability across varied audiences.
- A practical and adaptable approach, with enough structure to create confidence and enough flexibility to respond to what you hear.
- Genuine empathy for people experiencing change, balanced with the courage to challenge thinking and keep progress moving.
- The willingness and ability to travel regularly across the organisation's 30 national locations.
- A change management qualification such as Prosci or an equivalent is welcomed, although your record of making change work in practice will matter most.

Why this prospect stands out

- You'll have the opportunity to influence how a national organisation approaches change, not simply deliver a plan created by someone else.
- The work has visible executive sponsorship and a collaborative technology working group behind it.
- You'll be close enough to teams and locations to see the real impact of your work and adjust the approach when something is not landing well.
- You'll join a smart, supportive and slightly quirky team that values thoughtful ideas, honest conversations and practical action.
- The initial contract is for 12 months, with the potential to extend as the transformation program develops.

If your best change work begins with listening, earns trust through clear communication and stays close to the people affected, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now to help make this national transformation work for its people.
